LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY ANNOUNCES HOLLY MEYER LUCAS AS CANDIDATE FOR WOMAN OF THE YEAR
Jupiter’s Holly Meyer Lucas will Join Local Leaders to Compete for the Title of Woman of the Year
JUPITER, FL, Dec 19, 2016 – The Palm Beach County Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has announced that Holly Meyer Lucas of Palm Beach County has been nominated as a candidate for LLS’s 2016 Woman of the Year. Candidates across the country compete in honor of a local boy or girl who is a blood cancer survivor, to raise the most funds for blood cancer research.
Holly, a local Realtor and Team Leader of The Meyer Lucas Group, joins an elite group of community business leaders who will compete for the titles of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year. Competing for these titles is an honor, with a great deal of fanfare, however the most important reason candidates participate is to find cures for blood cancers and ensure that patients have access to lifesaving treatments. Holly is participating in honor of her friend, Stacy Kandel Holcroft, who was recently diagnosed with Stage VI Lymphoma, and in memory of her grandfather, Jim Johnson, who died of Leukemia at the age of sixty-two.
As a candidate, Holly Meyer Lucas will raise funds for a world without blood cancers between March 9, 2017 and May 19, 2017. Every dollar she raises will count as one “vote” in her favor. The male and female candidates with the most “votes” will be awarded the titles Palm Beach County Man & Woman of the Year at a Grand Finale on May 19, 2017 at the Hilton West Palm Beach. The local winners are then, entered into running for the National Man & Woman of the Year titles.
“The Man & Woman of the Year program is a great way for candidates to partner with other influential people in their communities to bring hope to thousands of blood cancer patients,” said Pamela Payne, Executive Director. “Candidates get to showcase their fundraising and community outreach skills are well as their humanitarianism.”
There are many ways you can support Holly Meyer Lucas in her quest for a world without blood cancers. Become a member of her campaign team, sponsor the Grand Finale on May 19, 2017, or simply pledge to make a donation during her campaign.
