Max Scherzer: National League Cy Young Award Winner!

CONGRATULATIONS to pitching phenom of the Washington Nationals and Meyer Lucas Group client, Max Scherzer on winning his SECOND Cy Young Award!!


For our non-baseball following friends: 

"The Cy Young Award is given annually to the best pitchers in Major League Baseball (MLB), one each for the American League (AL) and National League (NL). The award was first introduced in 1956 by Baseball Commissioner Ford Frick in honor of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young, who died in 1955.

The award is voted on by members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America"

  • He's thrown 2 no-hitters.

  • He's led his league in wins 3 times.

  • He's led his league in WHIP 2x.

  • He's been a league leader in strikeouts and innings pitched.

  • He tied the major league record for most strikeouts in 9 innings (20).

  • He's finished in the top 5 in the Cy Young voting each of the last 4 years.

  • He has 2 different-colored eyes.
