Marlins superstar, Giancarlo Stanton, is bringing the hardware back to South Florida!
With 61 homers smoked out of Petco Park on Monday night, Giancarlo Stanton smashed his way into the record books at the 2016 Home Run Derby in San Diego.
Stanton not only won the 2016 Home Run Derby in a landslide, but he destroyed Bobby Abreu's former record of 41 homers by hitting 61 of his own.
Not surprisingly, Stanton had the 10 longest home runs of the night – two 497-foot shots in each of the first two rounds.
In the final round, he hit 20 of the 21 longest shots, defeating the defending champion Todd Frazier 13-20.
Bravo, Giancarlo! Keep defying physics and freaking us out with your athleticism. Congratulations!!

Earlier today the Marlins issued a "Flash Offer" on their website, promising to cut ticket prices by however many homers G hit during the home run derby (percentage, for example if he hit 25 total, they would discount tickets 25%).
With his record breaking 61 homer night, Marlins ticket prices are now to be slashed 61%. Looks like we all win here in South Florida. WOO!
